Are you looking for a healthy and delicious dessert? I highly recommend this Avocado Nice Cream! Made with real avocados, bananas, and other natural ingredients. This dessert is rich and creamy yet nutritious and satisfying. It is tasty but also packed with nutrients like healthy fats, fibers, and potassium. And it is a great alternative to traditional ice cream if you're looking for a dairy-free, refined sugar-free, and vegan option.

A few wholefood ingredients and a blender or food processor are all you'll need to make one of the healthiest and most filling desserts that you can make at home

If you go out and pick up ice cream at the grocery store, it is hard to find an ice cream that is free from unhealthy ingredients and chemicals. Sure, some of them sell dairy-free and vegan, but looking at the long list of ingredients can make your head spin.

    Ingredients and Substitutions

With just minimal ingredients, you can now make the most delicious, healthy, and perfect dessert for the whole family. Check the recipe card for the exact list of ingredients that you can print.

    Fresh halves avocados.
    • Avocados - We need ripe avocados to make this creamy ice cream. Look for soft avocados from the store. If you find firm avocados and need to ripen them, put them on your countertop at room temperature for a couple of days, and they will soften up.
    • Banana - Ripe bananas that are already chilled/frozen are the best to add creaminess and sweetness to this avocado nice cream. You can use fresh, chilled, or frozen.
    • Coconut Milk - Coconut milk adds a creamy taste. It will also help to blend everything together. You can use unsweetened almond milk, or oat milk as an alternative.
    • Maple Syrup - If you have a sweet tooth, I highly recommend adding some maple syrup to sweeten this. You can also use honey, dates, or stevia. To substitute, you can start with a smaller quantity, taste, and adjust the sweetener as you go.

    Instructions

Step 1: Grab a high-speed blender or food processor and make your own creamy avocado ice cream. If you have frozen bananas, that's great since we want that creamy ice cream texture. If not, don't worry; you can still make it with fresh ingredients. It can also be easier for you to blend them together when they are not frozen.

Step 2. Peel the bananas and cut them into smaller pieces. Cut the avocados in halves, remove the seed, and scoop the avocados, and everything goes into the blender. Simply blend together the avocados, frozen or fresh bananas, coconut milk, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt.

Step 3. Once smooth and creamy, transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for a few hours until firm. Scoop into bowls and top with your favorite toppings, such as chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or fruits. Enjoy!

    Helpful Tips

    • Use ripe avocados and bananas: Be sure that your avocados are fully ripe before using them in your ice cream. They should be slightly soft to the touch and have a dark purple color.
    • Freeze your ingredients: Freezing your bananas will help give the nice cream a smooth and creamy texture. Freeze the bananas for a few hours or longer.
    • Blend until smooth: It's important to blend the ingredients until they are completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides of your blender or food processor if needed and continue to blend until you reach your desired texture.
    • Add sweetener to taste: Depending on your taste bud and the ripeness of bananas and avocados, you may need to adjust the amount of sweetener to achieve your desired sweetness. Taste the mixture and adjust accordingly.
    • Don't over-blend: If you over-blend the nice cream, it can become too soft and melty. Once the ice cream has turned smooth and creamy, transfer it into a container and freeze until firm.
