My favorite easy summer guacamole recipe is delicious, quick, and easy to make. It is colorful and made with wholefood ingredients. This yummy and creamy dip is perfect for nachos and taco parties.
There is no better way to use some of the vegetable gardens during the Summer season than to make your own vibrant, tasty and creamy guacamole. Our family loves to eat tomato fresh or make a vibrant dish out of it.
Making your own guacamole at home is fun, easy, and inexpensive. Grabbing a cutting board and a knife to slice your veggies is satisfying and relaxing to do in the kitchen.
Ingredients Needed
While you can add some of your favorite fruits and vegetable to your own guacamole, here are some of the key ingredients you will need:
- Avocados
- Cilantro/parsley
- Jalapeno peppers
- Cumin, salt, and black pepper
- Onion
- Tomatoes
- Lemon or lime juice
Instructions
- Here is one of my favorite parts. Let’s start by preparing all the ingredients. Slice onions, jalapeno, and cherry tomatoes into dice or smaller pieces. In a medium bowl, mash the avocados according to your desired consistency. I like to leave some avocado on the chunky side.
- Combine lemon juice, jalapeno pepper, cilantro, onion, cumin powder, salt, and pepper into the bowl and fold it in.
- Lastly, add the tomatoes and mix everything to combine. You can adjust the seasoning according to your taste. Serve and enjoy!
Storage Tips
This summer guacamole recipe keeps really well in the refrigerator if stored properly. To store it, just transfer your guacamole to an airtight container, preferably a glass container. Then place a piece of plastic wrap directly on top of the guacamole, and press it down with your fingers so that the plastic wrap is covering the entire surface area of the guac (keeping the air out, which will help prevent browning). Alternatively, you can splash some lemon juice on top of the guacamole to avoid the avocadoes from browning. Then just cover, and refrigerate for up to 1 week. I don’t recommend freezing it because it will alter the texture into mushy.
